B

Bonding to odbudowa estetyczna zębów za pomocą żywic kompozytowych, pozwalająca na korektę kształtu i koloru zębów.

Bruxism Involuntary grinding or clenching of the teeth. This can lead to headaches, tooth wear, and temporomandibular joint problems.

Bridle A small fold of tissue that connects the lip or tongue to the floor of the mouth. If it is too short, it can interfere with speech or feeding.

C

Capable - A painful, small ulcer of the oral mucosa. It usually heals spontaneously within 7–14 days.

CBCT Advanced 3D imaging used to plan implants, root canal treatment or surgery.

Cephalometry A type of skull X-ray used in orthodontics. It helps assess the relative position of the jawbones and skull.

D

Dental implant - An artificial tooth root implanted into the bone, upon which a crown is attached. It provides a permanent replacement for a missing tooth.

Diastema A gap between teeth, most often between the upper front teeth. This may be a natural occurrence or require orthodontic treatment.

Deep bite A malocclusion in which the upper teeth excessively overlap the lower teeth. It can cause tooth wear and jaw problems.

Dental anesthesia A medication used during procedures that eliminates pain. It allows for comfortable dental treatment.

Exposure of the tooth neck A condition in which the gums recede, exposing the sensitive part of the tooth. This can lead to pain and sensitivity.

F

Fixed aesthetic braces (Damon System) – a type of modern fixed brace with smaller, more delicate brackets, and often made of white ceramic or transparent materials. Patients often choose them for their aesthetics and reduced visibility on the teeth.

Fluoridation – A preventive treatment involving the application of fluoride to teeth. Its purpose is to strengthen the enamel and protect against tooth decay.

Filling A material used to restore a tooth after removal of decay. It restores the tooth's shape and function.

Gum recession Receding gums, which expose the roots of the teeth. This can lead to sensitivity and require treatment.

Hygienization Professional in-office teeth cleaning, including scaling, sandblasting, and polishing, removes tartar and plaque, and improves gum health.

Herpes A viral infection manifesting as blisters on the lips. This may be a contraindication to dental procedures until the blisters heal.

I

Inlay/onlay/overlay - An alternative to fillings are dental onlays, which are placed in areas of tooth loss. They are prepared before the patient’s visit, based on previously taken impressions.

Irygator An oral hygiene device that uses a stream of water to remove food debris and bacteria from interdental spaces.

Curettage – Periodontal treatment involves deep cleaning of gum pockets. It helps prevent periodontal disease.

Modjaw A modern system that analyzes jaw movements in four dimensions. It is used for diagnosing temporomandibular joint problems, planning orthodontic treatment, and more.

Neurologopeda a specialist who specializes in speech, chewing, and swallowing therapy for children and adults. In dentistry, he collaborates on occlusion therapy, swallowing problems, mouth breathing, and abnormal tongue resting position.

Orthodontics A branch of dentistry that deals with correcting the alignment of teeth and bite. It uses fixed or removable orthodontic appliances.

P

Panoramic radiograph Panoramic X-ray of all teeth and jawbones. Assists in general dental diagnostics.

Pedodontics Pediatric dentistry deals with the treatment of primary and permanent teeth in children. It includes prevention, caries treatment, and oral hygiene.

Periodontology A branch of dentistry that deals with diseases of the gums and tissues surrounding the teeth. It treats conditions such as periodontitis and gingival recession.

Prosthetic crown A cap that rebuilds a severely damaged tooth. It restores the tooth's natural appearance and function.

Relaxation splint A clear mouthguard, typically worn at night, protects against tooth wear and helps with bruxism.

Removal of impacted teeth Surgical procedure for removing teeth that have not erupted properly, e.g. wisdom teeth impacted deep in the bone.

Scaling Ultrasound tartar removal. Recommended regularly to prevent gum disease.

Sandblasting A hygienization treatment that involves removing deposits and discoloration using a stream of water, air and fine powder.

Sonic toothbrush This toothbrush operates on the principle of sonic vibrations. It is more effective in removing bacterial plaque than a traditional toothbrush.

Teeth whitening This treatment improves the color of your teeth through the use of a whitening gel. It can be performed in a dental office or at home.

Tartar A hard deposit formed by bacterial plaque mineralizing on teeth. It can only be removed by a dentist.

Toothless The complete absence of teeth in the upper or lower arch, which makes biting and speaking difficult, and impacts facial appearance. Prosthetic treatment, such as dentures or implants, is necessary to restore the function and aesthetics of the smile.

Tooth pulp The tissue inside a tooth contains nerves and blood vessels. When it becomes infected, root canal treatment is necessary.

Tooth hypersensitivity Painful sensations when eating cold, hot, or sweet foods. This may be due to exposed tooth necks or worn enamel.

Veneer A thin sheet of porcelain or composite material bonded to the front of the tooth. It is used to improve the shape and color of the tooth.

– polecamy wysiąść na stacji Gdańsk Oliwa, a następnie spacerem udać się ulicą Poczty Gdańskiej w kierunku Alei Grunwaldzkiej, po przejściu której nasze w budynku po lewej stronie znajduje się nasze Centrum

Wejście do budynku:

– od ulicy Kaprów

– nasze Centrum znajduje się na I piętrze

– w budynku jest całodobowe ochrona, która pomoże Państwu trafić do gabinetu

– budynek, jak i dojście do dojście do lokalu jest przystosowane dla osób z niepełnosprawnościami

– dodatkowo, w naszym Centrum znajduje się w pełni wyposażona łazienka dla osób niepełnosprawnych
