Periodontology deals with treating disease of the oral mucous membrane and periodontal tissues (gums, periodontal ligament, root cementum and the tooth sockets in the bone).
Periodontist’s work provides very important input during comprehensive treatment of our Patients. More and more often, this treatment allows us to conduct orthodontic treatment even more safely and quickly.
Symptoms of periodontal diseases can vary
depending on stage, but can include:
– Redness and swelling of the gums.
– Gums bleeding during teeth brushing, flossing, or when eating.
– Long-term bad breath (halitosis).
– Gums detaching from your teeth, resulting in what is called “gum pockets”.
– Receding gum, exposing tooth roots.
– Loose teeth, or feeling of teeth instability.
– Accumulation of plaque and tartar.
– Pain or discomfort when chewing.
– Teeth shifting their position, and change of occlusion pattern.
– Change of the shape or appearance of the gums.

Periodontal treatment can be divided into two main groups: non-surgical and surgical treatment.
Non-surgical treatment involves the treatment of inflammation of periodontal tissues, usually initially manifested by bleeding, bad breath, or bad taste in your mouth. It consists in cleaning up periodontal tissues from deposits, plaque,
and inflamed tissue. Moderate problems are usually treated using such methods as scaling and sanding.
More advanced problems require other procedures, such as curettage or rootplanning, performed in local anaesthesia.
Surgical treatment involves such problems as receding gums, correction of inadequate pattern of the frenulum (of the tongue or lips), correction of gummy smile, crown lengthening when there are prosthodontic indications to do so.
A specific periodontal treatment is corticotomy which consists in making vertical cuts between tooth roots in the external layer of the bone (cortex). This procedure is performed in orthodontic Patients and is due to increase the range of possible tooth movements, and limit potential periodontal complications of orthodontic treatment.

We care for your comfort, that’s why Aline Centre is a digital clinic which ensures one-stop-shop treatment from your first visit.
This area of dentistry deals with treating disease of the oral mucous membrane and periodontal tissues (the tissues directly surrounding the tooth root: gums, periodontal ligament, root cementum and the bone). It involves preventive dentistry procedures aimed at removing as much pathogenic bacteria as possible, as well as plaque and tartar,
from your mouth.
This procedure improves the gum line around the necks of the teeth so that to finally ensure the most aesthetic and natural smile in our Patients. Corrections involving multiple teeth are preformed using precisely executed templates.

It consists in the reconstruction of soft tissues (the gum) that incompletely cover the root of the tooth. Although it may seem to be a procedure performed for purely cosmetic reasons, in fact, it improves heath of the tissues that fix the tooth in place (including the bones).

This procedure involves collaboration of the periodontist and orthodontist. It consists in precise mobilisation of the bones surrounding tooth roots to ensure the best possible conditions to displace the teeth during orthodontic treatment. An additional advantage of this procedure is very often shorter duration of orthodontic treatment.
